The depicted image demonstrates diverse stages of the fly life cycle. In general, it consists of seven phases, beginning from the hatching of eggs to an adult fly that will lay eggs later, particularly the female species. It is also noticeable that the fly spends around 2–4 weeks, on average, to complete its life cycle.
The life cycle of a fly begins when the mature insect lays its eggs. Then, they hatch in 8 to 24 hours before turning into larvae. After that phase, the eggs become larvae, which are divided into three stages. We can see that, between 4 and 7 days, the first stage is a small larva that will grow bigger until the third larval stage.
Embarking on a new phase, the larva changes into a pupa, which is larger and fatter. This takes 10 to 20 days. Next, it becomes a young adult fly with two wings and feet. After 20 days, the fly grows in size and becomes a mature fly. Once the whole process is completed, the adult female fly is ready to reproduce and lay more eggs.
