Image for topic: The diagram below shows the manufacturing process for making sugar from sugar cane. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
Our system will evaluate the answer based on this AI-generated description.
The image depicts the sugar production process, starting from growing sugarcane (12-18 months), followed by harvesting using a machine or manual labor, crushing to extract juice, purifying the juice with a limestone filter, evaporating the juice with heat as it becomes syrup, separating sugar crystals from syrup with a centrifuge, and finally, drying and cooling the sugar crystals.
Given the complexity of the image, the above description may not be entirely accurate.

How sugar is made from sugar cane is depicted in the diagram below through a 7-step manufacturing process, although an optional variation on the second step does exist.

First and foremost, the sugar cane must be grown over a harvesting time of between 12-18 months. When ready, the time for the actual harvesting takes place. However, there are two options for the manner of collection: by a mechanical combine harvester, or by physical human labor. Following either, the process of crushing is undertaken via a machine in which the sugarcanes are squeezed until juice is produced.

After the juice is collected, they must be purified. This is done through the use of a funnel and limestone filter. Next, the juice is gathered into a large evaporator which is heated by flame until the juice becomes syrup. After that, the syrup is placed in a centrifuge which allows the crystals of sugar to be separated from the syrup itself. Finally, the raw sugar crystals are moved to a large steel container to be dried and cooled.
