The two maps illustrate the current layout of a university’s biomedical campus and its anticipated alterations in the future.
Overall, the campus is undergoing a major transformation. While new recreational facilities and modern infrastructure will be added, a prominent change involves the removal of green spaces to accommodate this expansion and the division of the existing car park into two separate, designated areas.
Focusing on the northern sector of the campus, the present large area of trees in the top-left corner is designated for removal. In this place, two new buildings, Genetics 1 and Bio-imaging, will be constructed. In addition, the pedestrian walkway is directly linked to the complex mentioned above.
In the southern area, the Biochemistry building will be relocated slightly northeast and rotated 90 degrees. The open space for trees in the bottom-left corner will be cleared to build a staff car park, and a new road will be created to connect the two main roads on the left and at the bottom of the map. Furthermore, on the right, the Biotech facility is set to be enlarged, and the existing Genetics building will be renamed Genetics 2.
