The given diagram demonstrates the process of preparing Pu-erh ripe and raw tea.
Overall, it is a liner process consists of 5 main stages: frying, drying, fermenting, aging and compression.
The first step is to fry the harvested tea leaves in a pot which inactivates the enzymes of the tea leaves. After frying, it is rolled to put it under the sun for drying. Dried leaves then either become ripe tea or vintage raw tea. Preparation of ripe Pu-erh tea involves fermenting in a hollow container the raw tea, while raw tea preparation involves aging by sorage.
To achieve high quality Pu-erh ripe tea, dried leaves set free. Then go through fermentation process by mold to make them ripe. The ripe tea set free again which then compressed. However, to make vintage raw tea the loose raw tea undergoes compression and stored to age so that vintage Pu-erh raw tea is ready to drink.
