The diagram provides the information on the manufacturing procedure of Pu-erh raw tea and Pu-erh ripe tea.
Overall, this process comprises of many stages: starting with frying and rolling with subsequent drying, and then it is either compressed and stored for raw tea or fermented and compressed for ripe tea.
The process begins by collecting and pan frying the leaves in order to inactivate the enzymes. In the next step, the leaves are rolled and kept under the sun with the purpose of drying. Eventually, the loose raw tea is the output of the dried leaf rolls.
Following that, some of the loose tea is separated from the batch to create raw tea. This bunch of tea is compressed, and under this pressure, it is converted into Pu-erh raw tea. Additionally, it is kept in storage, and after adequate ageing, the output is vintage Pu-erh raw tea.
Afterwards, the rest of the loose raw tea is taken for fermentation, which is done by mold. The result of this step is loose ripe tea. Thereafter, with further compression the Pu-erh ripe tea is ready for distribution and use.
