The diagram illustrates the various stages involved in recycling glass bottles, from disposal to reuse by consumers.
Overall, glass bottles recycling is a cyclical process consisting of nine stages, begining with the disposal of used bottles and ending with them being redistributed for reuse.
At the beginning of the process, people dispose of used glass bottles in recycling bins. These bottles are then collected by recycling trucks and transporting to a recycling facility. Once there, they are washed thoroughly in order to remove dirt and other impurities. After being cleaned, the bottles are sorted into different groups. Following this stage, the sorted glass bottles are crushed into smaller pieces to prepare them for further processing.
In the next stage, the crushed glass is melted in a furnance at a high temperature until it turns into liquid form. The molten glass is then poured into moulds and shaped into new bottles. After the manufacturing stage is completed, the newly produced bottles, and after use, then can be disposed of again for recycling, making the process continuous.
