The process diagram illustrates the phases and special equipments used in cement production, and how cement used in making concrete for building purposes.
Overall, provided diagram is divided into two stages, cement and concrete production. While cement-making process considers several types of equipments such as crusher, mixer, rotating heater, and grinder, concrete production is implemented by using one main machine, which is concrete mixer.
In terms of cement production, at the beginning limestone and clay are being crushed to get powder, which will be fundamental for making cement. Afterwards, crushed powder goes into the mixer, and heats in special rotating heater to get the sticky liquid, that moves through the grinder. As a result, we get cement, that packs into bags, which can be used for making concrete.
Regarding concrete production, there are many different ingredients that are mixed in huge concrete mixer with a specific proportions. For example, 15% of cement, 10% of water, quarter of sand, and finally half of gravel (small stones). Eventually, there is a concrete that can be used for building purposes.
