The pictures show how carbonated beverages are manufactured. Overall, this is a complex process consisting of 5 main stages which mostly take place in a factory and require the use of special equipment, the end product being carbonated drinks in bottles and cans that are sold in supermarkets.
The process begins with the cleaning stage, during which raw water is filtered (first inside a filter and then in a water softener) with the help of chemicals. The filtered water then goes into a pump whereupon the second stage starts: heating evaporating and carbonation. First, the water is heated in electric heaters, and right after that, the temperature is lowered in a cooling pipe. Once cooled down, the water undergoes carbonation – a process where CO2 is added to the water.
During the next stage, carbonated water is sent into a mixing tank through a pipe. Inside the tank, coloring, syrup, and flavor are added to make the drink more presentable and tasty. The resulting mixture needs to be filtered once again, after which it is poured into bottles and cans which marks the pre-last stage – filtering and filling. Having been packed into boxes, the ready products are sent to supermarkets in lorries, this being the final stage called packaging.
