The diagram explains a complex procedure for shaping glass containers. Overall, there are nine stages in the process, beginning with melting glass in a furnace and ending with checking and sorting or discarding the products.
First, glass is melted in a furnace. Afterwards, the molten glass is placed into a mould, where it is pressed to take shape. When the glass has been pressed, it is transferred into another mould to obtain the final shape, and air is blown into it to make it harder.
Following this, the thick-walled containers go through a heating and cooling process. They are heated in a kiln at a high temperature (482°C), followed by cooling in a cooling kiln for one hour at 25°C.
In the final stages, the glass is checked by hand for quality. Approved containers are subsequently packed into boxes, while faulty ones are categorized as waste and removed from the production line.
