This image provides information about the production of chocolate, step by step.
From an overall perspective, it is apparent that ripe red pods of cacao tree undergo 9 subsequent stages in order to make the final chocolate product, namely liquid chocolate.
Cacao tree is mainly grown in south America, Africa, and Indonesia. These trees bear ripe red pods which contain plenty of white cacao beans, which will be fermented after being harvested. The fermented cacao beans, then will be put under sunshine until they are dried. Dried cacao will be piled in large socks, being transported by train or lorry to the chocolate factories.
In the factory, beans will be heated in a certain temperature to get them roasted. These roasted beans will be crushed and their outer shell will be removed, preparing the cacao powder from its inner part. Ultimately, industrial machines will transform cacao powder into liquid chocolate.
