The maps illustrate the alternatives in Felixstrone in England during the two years period, between 1967 and 2001.
Overall, there were significant changes in the organization of this area, especially the addition of new buildings, the removal of area for fields and place for shopping.
As can be seen in the map, there was a golf course on the top-left corner, which was still remained in the 2001 plan. To the right of the golf course, there were two rows of shops along the street. After 30 years, the left one stayed unchanged; while the right one was converted to novel apartments for residential purposes. Additionally, on the top-right corner of the map, an old farmland was cleared to make way for a recreational and entertainment area, including a swimming pool, a hotel and tennis courts.
In terms of remaining areas, there were green area and dunes on the bottom-left corner was remained unchanged with the addition of wind turbines to generate electricity to the left of the sea. Moreover, the central area for hotel and cafe was remain unchanged with the introduction of a new parking lot by the sea. A public beach was introduced in 2001’s plan to attract tourist, as it was not present in 1967’s map. In 1967, the fish market, which was on the right of the map, demolished to make use of private beach in 2001.
