The diagrams illustrate several transformations of a classroom in a preschool in 2010 and its present layout.
Overall, while the general design of this classroom remains unchanged, there have been additional infrastructures to enhance learning methods and to serve recreational purposes.
One of the most noticeable similarities between both layouts lies in the classroom’s structure. Specifically, it includes key elements, such as an entrance, a sink, bookshelves to the left-corner of the class, and two play areas stretching along the left area, which are adjacent to various toys and dolls. Additionally, three classroom tables remain centrally positioned, along with an art sector and art supplies in the top-right corner.
Subsequently, significant alterations have been implemented to modernize this classroom. Notably, the teacher’s desk and the left-bottom play area have been removed to allow for more open space. Meanwhile, the tables have been repositioned directly to the left-hand side area. Moreover, the right-hand side of the classroom in 2010 housing white-board, media system, puzzles, and blocks has been substituted for smart-board, speakers, and computer, all of which are novel learning approaches. Finally, an art area has been simultaneously introduced opposite to the art supplies.
