The given diagrams describe how the silkworm grows from eggs to become mature individuals.
In general, there are four main stages in the life cycle of a silkworm: eggs, silkworm larva, larva and cocoon. The entire process lasts for about 3 months.
At the first step, the eggs hatch after a period of 10 days to become the silkworm larva. Those shelter and are fed by the leaves of mulberry trees. They live there for around four to six weeks until the silk thread appears.
After being covered by the silkthread, the previously called silkworm larva is considered larva. It takes the larva three to eight days to develop into a cocoon. This is followed by the moth emerging from the shell of silk in order to become a mature silkworm more than two weeks later. The reproductive cycle starts again when the moth lays eggs.
