The provided maps compare the current layout of the biomedical campus to its planned configuration.
Overall, the campus will experience significant redevelopment, integrated with additional modern sections in order to support its main majors. The most noticeable modifications are the reduction of the forest trees and changes to the roads’ design.
As of today, in the northern part of the campus, a car park is situated alongside a forest. To the south-west, another forest positions between a lab and a biochemistry sector. Meanwhile, the south-eastern zone comprises an additional lab adjacent to a genetics area, both of which are located above a biotech area. Furthermore, the separate three zones are surrounded by roads and a walkway.
In the near future, the layout will be comprehensively altered, with 3 aforementioned zones integrated into one. The northern trees will be reduced to make way for the establishment of a genetics-1 and a bio-imaging rooms. The former genetics and biotech rooms will be expanded, whereas the lab will be remained unchanged. Notably, the south-western part will witness the forest being cut down and the new formation of the biochemistry area. Concurrently, a staff car park will also be introduced besides the original one.
