The pictures given illustrate the way in which a biomedical campus has changed for urbanization purposes between the present and the planned future.
Looking at the illustration, it is immediately evident that some old features are still there, whereas others such as the tree area and one of the labs have all gone. Additionally, over the period, the biomedical campus has undergone noticeable transformations with several major changes including the addition of new departments and the relocation of existing ones.
In the near future, the main road and the car park will remain unchanged, and so will the walkway in the central area. However, the green space in the top-left corner and the original Genetics building were demolished to make way for new facilities such as Genetics 1 and a Bio-imaging centre. Similarly, the Biochemistry block has been repositioned, as well as the Biotech unit, which will have a more complex structure.
By that time, changes had been made to other features, the most noticeable of which was the expansion and relocation of several research labs. There was also an extension of the internal pathways running through the campus from the southern road.
