The map illustrates the changes to Liverton docks from 1980 to the present day.
Overall, this place underwent a number of dramatic changes, the most important of which were the disappearance of the warehouses and cranes and the development of recreational and residential facilities on both northern and southern banks of the river.
In 1980, three warehouses were built alongside the river and several cranes, two warehouses and cranes in the northern, and once in the southern. Nowadays, the northern side has been redeveloped to include an education center, a sailing club, and a kid’s playground converted by warehouse and cranes. Simultaneously, residential apartments and parking facilities have been added along the river in the south, and a River Walk was built adjacent to the river.
In addition, ships in 1980 were demolished to make way for a ship museum which is located on the west of the map. In the east, the other structures that have been added are the bridge across the river and the flood barrier to prevent flooding.
