The picture illustrates the redesigned school library from its previous design five years ago.
Overall, it can be seen that minority rooms have not been changed, even though majority of facilities have been altered or removed. The purpose of the rooms on the left-hand side has changed. While the number of study tables has increased, one of the bookshelves has been removed. The function and capacity of the rooms on the right-hand side have also been altered.
It is evident from the chart that the school authorities replaced the classroom with a recording studio, which was not available 5 years ago. The name of the room located in the left corner of the library has had certain words removed. It was previously called the ‘borrowing and returning desk,’ but now it is just the ‘borrowing desk,’ even though the purpose has not changed since there are no desks for returning books. At the center of these two rooms, there is a meeting room, which, surprisingly, was not removed or replaced.
Five years ago, there were four study tables at the center of the library. Currently, the area has become private and now includes two additional tables. There were bookshelves on both sides of these tables, below and above. The lower bookshelves have been replaced with desks intended for students’ laptops. Additionally, the desk for computers in the upper right corner is now used for laptops. Finally, the library office has been removed from the right-hand corner, and a new conference room has been established in its place.
