The bar chart illustrates the number of men and women employed in five different occupations in South Korea in 2020.
Overall, there was a noticeable gender imbalance in most professions. Women outnumbered men in the field of medicine, while men held more positions in teaching, policing, and economics. The number of male and female office workers, however, was equal.
In detail, the profession with the highest number of women was doctor, with approximately 6 female employees, compared to only 1 male. This marked the greatest gender disparity in favor of women. In contrast, economics showed the most significant male dominance, with around 4 men working in this field, while only about 1 woman was employed.
Teachers also showed a gender difference, but in the opposite direction, with roughly 4 men compared to 2 women. Similarly, in the police profession, men slightly outnumbered women (5 versus 4). The office worker category was the only occupation where both genders were equally represented, with 4 men and 4 women.
