The first chart gives information about the usage of energy in an average house in Australia, while the second chart illustrates the proportion of greenhouse gas emissions as a result of energy consumption.
Overall, heating accounts for the highest percentage of energy use with water heating which contributes most to the gas emissions resulted from energy.
Starting with energy usage, the proportions of heating and water heating are 42% and approximately a third, respectively. Refrigeration comprises twice as much amount of energy as lightning which is 4%. Finally, the least percentage of energy in households comes from cooling and 15% of that from other appliances.
With regards to greenhouse gas emissions, water heating and other appliances cause the most amount with accounting for about a third. Similar to the first pie chart, the contribution of lightning and cooling is a small proportion, whereas heating and refrigeration makes up a same percentage of 15% of gas emission from energy use.
