The initial bar chart illustrates the proportion of both genders who were at secondary school in 4 various regions of the world. The second one demonstrates the percentages of males and females at college age in higher education, in the same year.
Overall, Europe has the highest attendance rate in both education, secondary, and higher. In opposite to sub-Saharan Africa, which has significantly lower participation in the 2 types of education. Noticeably, most women from the three countries don’t participate much except in Europe.
More specifically, in secondary schooling, Europe is the only region where the attendance rate is the highest, and enrollment rates are close to 100%. On the other hand, Sub-Saharan Africa has the lowest figures, with male and female participation at around 30% and 20%. While the rest also show a similar trend, they are on opposite ends. In these two regions, approximately 50% of boys and 60% of girls attend secondary school, while around 60% of boys and 55% of girls are enrolled.
Moving on to tertiary-level education, Europe still holds its dominance, with 70% of women and 60% of men enrolled. Participation rates of both males and females are remarkably lower than 10% in Sub-Saharan Africa. Latin America and East Asia have the same pattern to each other, with one being close to 20%, and the other nearly 10%.
