The first graph presents the information about the amount of commuters who travelled Sydney by train. The second chart depicts the ratio of trains which worked according to schedule, in consecutive 10 years from 1994 to 2004.
Overall, the number of passengers increased over time and then countied stable. However, the percentages of buses fluctuated, and sharply decreased.
In detail, the number of people who travelled to Sydney was 250 million in 1995, and it grew for about 18 million more in 1999. However, in 2001, it skyrocketed to 300 million, and decreased from 300 to 280 million after a year. And the figures continued steadily around 280 million till the end of the timeframe.
In 1995, more than 92 percent of trains worked on time, after 2 years it reduced to 85%. However, between 1997 and 2000, the shares reached just below 90%, and diminished for less than a fifth. In 2002, the figures again rose more than 90%. But in the following years it plummeted dramatically to just over seven in ten.
