The bar char illustrates the proportiion of different age groups who went to cinema in 2002.
Overall, older people had the highest persentage of cinema goers. Notably, only in this age group more women went to cinema than men. In the other age groups men and women approximatly had similar percentage.
Around 33% of cinema goers were women aged 50 and above compared to 29 % for the men in the same age group. The figure dropped considerably for people aged 35 to 49 years, as only one in every four of them visited the cinema ( 25% ) of both genders. Similarly, males and females had equal proportions of cinema goers among teenagers aged between 14 and 17 years ( 7% each).
In contrast, slightly more men than women visited the cinema in the age group 25 to 34 years, 23″% and 20% respectively. Likewise, more men than women visited the cinema in the age group 18 to 24 years. ( 18 % as opposed to 15 %).
