The bar chart below illustrates the mass percentage of 5 different industries in France’s economy from 2000 to 2020, with intervals of 10 years.
Overall, most of the industries lost the share that they possessed in 2000 or 2010 by 2020. This does not apply to the Banking industry, which rose constantly during the whole period.
First of all, we can see that only the Automotive and Energy industries declined by 5% during the first decade. The Tourism and Banking industries gained 5% during that period, while the IT service industry set a record by rising from 10% to 20% by 2010. Also, it is shown that the Banking industry is the only one that improved its stats by 2020. Despite the growth in the first 10 years, the IT service and Tourism industries went back to their initial positions in France’s economy. During the second half of the given period, the Energy industry could keep its position and has stood stable during the last 10 years. However, the biggest decrease took place in the Automotive industry, from 20% to 5% between 2000 and 2020 respectively.
