The graph illustrates the proportions of unemployed women in the UK from 2013 to 2014. Overall, while the unemployment rates of females in Scotland experienced an upward trend during the surveyed time, the opposite pattern was true for the remaining nations.
In 2013, the data for England took the lead with 6.80%, 0.70% higher than that for Scotland. From 2013 onwards, the figure for England witnessed a slight decrease whereas that for Scotland rose to 6.70%. Strikingly, the proportions of unemployed female residents in the two countries was the highest over the period.
Meanwhile in the first year, the percentages of women without any occupation in Wales was 5.40%, compared to 5.60% of that in Northern Ireland. In the next year, a decline was recorded in the statistics for the unemployment rates of the both countries, with that for the Welsh dropping to 5% and that for Northern Irish decreasing by 1%.
