Overall, three out of four countries experienced a decline over the period. However, Scotland was the exception among the four countries, by having an increase in its data.
Starting with the data of England and Wales, both countries observed a reduction in the percentage of unemployment for women in 2014, and the statistic for England was higher than Wales in both years. In 2013, 6.80% of females in England were unemployed, while that number for women in Wales was only 5.40%. In the next year, the figures for England and Wales had a slight dip of 0.3% and 0.4%, respectively.
In terms of Scotland and Northern Ireland, the two countries experienced contrasting trends during the period. The proportion for Scotland increased from 6.10% to 6.70% in the two years. Meanwhile, the data for Northern Ireland dropped significantly by 1%, from 5.60% to 4.60%. Moreover, the percentage of unemployed women in Northern Ireland was the lowest among all the statistics shown in the chart.
