Overall, males played electronic games more than females in all age groups. In addition, role-playing games were the most popular type among gamers.
Looking at age groups, the highest percentage of gamers was males aged 20-29, at about 35%. Females in this group were much lower, at around 10%. Among children under 12, about 8% were male gamers, while females were only around 5%. In the 13-19 group, male gamers accounted for nearly 18%, compared to roughly 7% for females. For people aged 30 and over, participation decreased for both genders, especially females.
Regarding game types, role-playing games were the most preferred, with approximately 45% of gamers choosing them. Action games were the second most popular at around 20%, followed by strategy/turn-based games at about 15%. Simulation and other games were the least popular, each with under 10%.
