In the year 1924, 3000 men participated in Olympics and the number for women remained almost zero. The counting of men climbed gradually with time and peaked at 6000 in the year 2012. There was an increase in numbers of female cndidates. In the year 1984, it reached to almost 1500 and then sharply increased to 4500 in the year 2012.
The number of total participants increased medially from the year 1924 to the year 2012 and reached from 3000 to 11000 in nearly 80 years.
