The pie chart compares the percentages of five different major sources of energy for the USA between 1980 and 1990.
It is clear that the highest percentage of energy was produced from oil in 1980 and 1990. By contrast, the amount of energy produced from hydroelectric power in the USA was the lowest in the given years.
On the one hand, in 1980, 42% of energy was produced from oil, and it remained the highest percentage of energy sources for the USA at 33% in 1990. Additionally, there was an increase in the percentage of energy produced from 22% to 27% in the years 1980 and 1990. Moreover, the proportion of energy production sources increased from 5% in 1980 to 10% in 1990, a rise of 5% over the period of 10 years.
On the other hand, the USA saw a slight decrease of 1% in the percentage of energy produced from natural gas, from 26% to 25% between 1980 and 1990. However, during the ten-year period, 5% of energy was produced from hydroelectric power in 1980, and it stayed constant and lowest in comparison with other sources in 1990.
