The given maps illustrate the layout of Porth Harbor between 2000 and now.
Overall, it is apparent that the harbour has undergone numerous renovations for visitors, adding a cafe and shops place, a showering facility, and a dock and constructing a new road. Notably, the areas for fishing boats and private boats are swapped.
In 2000, there were two roads to enter the harbour, one on the northwest and another on the southwest of the map. Upon entering the northern road from the main road, a smaller car park was located. North of the car park was a shower and toilet facility; similarly, a place for private yachts called Marina was on the east. A dock for carrying passenger ships was located on the east of the Marina. The public beach which is not depicted in the map can be reached by going north of the dock. When entering the southern road from the main road,a place for the lifeboat was at the end of the road. On the south of the Marina, a place for fishing boats was constructed. A larger car park was to the west of the fishing boat’s place. A disused castle was on the southeastern part of the map ,and a public beach was near the castle.
At present, the places of Marina and fishing boats are swapped. A new showering facility has been added, but the car parks remain the same. A new dock has also been added, and a road for entering the southwest part of harbour. A castle is reconstructed as a hotel which is connected to a road now , and the public beach is changed into a private one for the hotel visitors. A new cafe and shop place has also been built.
