Overall, while swimming, netball and athletics were three surveyed sports that were favored by girls, boy were more interested in soccer, tennis, basketball and cricket. In addition, netball and cricket were not boys’ and girls’ interest, respectively.
As can be seen from the graph, girls surpassed boys in percentages of swimming , netball and athletics. Notably, the most popular sport among female was netball, with a highest number at 25%, in contrast with males’ figure, standing a mere 2%. Following closely with netball was swimming, girls’ ratio made up over 20%, roughly 7% higher than that of boys. It is interesting to note that male and female individuals ‘s rates in athletics represented over and under 5%, respectively.
In contrast, boys represented a higher figure than girl’s in soccer, tennis, basketball and cricket. Males held predominant position in football with a remarkable number at nearly 25%, being 5 times higher than that of females. It is worth noticing that boys’ rates in basketball and tennis stood at under 10%, while girls’ percentage in these categories constituted round 6% to 8%.Strikingly, the rate of boys playing cricket was 10%, sharply contrasting with girls, making up nearly 0%.
