The chart illustrates the data from immigration, emigration and net migration in Canada from 2005 to 2015.
Overall, the amount of people who either immigrate to or emigrate from Canada both increased steadily over the course of ten years. With that being said, the quantity of the immigrates was noticeably higher than the statistics of those who emigrated from Canada. In addition, net migration reached the peak in 2011, following a series of fluctuation over a decade.
In ten years, the amount of immigration in Canada had an upward trend. In 2005, 450 thousand people came to Canada, and the data fluctuated slightly in said period before it reached the highest point (at around 600,000) in 2015. Similar to that, the number of emigrates from Canada also rose 400 thousand in 2015. It is worth mentioning that, in the time period from 2005 to 2015 the statistics of the immigration is larger by 150 percent compared to the ones who emigrated from Canada.
On the other hand, the net migrations in 2005 was about 170,000 people, and it had a little-to-none up and down trend until 2010. Eventually, the data touched the peak at 200,000 individuals. Finally, the number of net migrations declined for four years and settled at 180,000 in 2015.
