The number of immigrants to Canada had risen dramatically over a decade, from 450 thousand in the beginning to 600 thousand in 2015. Canada experienced a steady increase in the number of immigrants from 2007 to 2009, with a difference of approximately 100 thousand. Similarly, the number of emigrants also increased with an unstable trend. It increased dramatically from 2005 and reached its peak in 2009. However, there had been unstable changes after 2009 but still remained at 400 thousand at the end of the time period.
The net migrations stand over 150 thousand for all the years. 2011 was the year which had the highest average migrations with around 200 thousand migrants, while 2010 had the least average migrants.
