It is clear that the international immigration and emigration were rosed over the period shown. Overall, the net migration experienced the peak at 2004 and 2007.
In 1999, the immigration rate was about 450,000 people and continued rose. The emigration one was under 300,000 people at that time. In addition, the net migration rate was about 170,000 people until it decreased in 2003. From 1999 to 2004, the number of population who came to the UK rose gradually while who came out witnessed the smaller rate. The net migration also reached a peak about 250,000 people at 2004.
After 2004, the number of immigration remained to increase until the end of the period, but the number of emigration was about slower. The population who came out from the UK was suddenly decreased nearly 100,000 people in 2007 and then grew up to over 400,000 people. As a result, the net migration hit a peak in 2007 but dropped dramatically to 170,000 people in 2008.
