Overall, the number of Catholics in the Philippines remained the highest despite a slight drop in this period, while it kept the lowest in Japan, even after it increased a little. The trend in the number of Catholics varied between countries; while it was on the rise in China, India, and Japan, the number of Catholics in the Philippines, Vietnam, and Korea seemed to be plummeting.
On the one hand, the population of Catholics increased from nine million to fifteen million, ten and half million to nineteen million, and four hundred thousand to just above five hundred thousand in China, India, and Japan respectively.
On the other hand, their population decreased from about seventy-six million to seventy-two million, near 5.5 million to just above 5.3 million, and just below 5.3 million to about 1.3 million in the Philippines, Vietnam, and Korea respectively.
