The information of the proportion of residents living in cities, in Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia is depicted in the line graph, from the year 1970, projecting to 2040. Looking from a whole perspective, All of the countries are likely to undergo an increasing number of citizens.
To begin with, both Malaysia and Indonesia underwent a stable increase since 1970. The former, had 30% of total population settling in cities in1970, and the amount went up along the period of time, reaching well over 70% in 2020. Malaysia is expected to have less than 10% increase for the next two decades. While Indonesia, started at approximately 15%; likewise, underwent a gradual increase until 2020, contributing a 50% of population living in cities. It was likely that Indonesia experiences a stable rise in the consecutive twenty years.
On the other hand, the proportion of citizen in Philippines and Thailand was not as significant as that of in Malaysia and Indonesia. Thailand developed a slow increase since 1970, started at slightly below 20% and finished at 30% in 2020. However, it is prominent to steep rise for 2030 and 2040. While Philippines, it started at 30% in 1970, and having a noticeable increase in 1990, reaching almost 50%. The proportion of it fluctuated, it went down until 2020, and slightly increase in 2020, contributing at about 45%. It was projected to increase in proportion for 2030 and 2040.
