The given line graph illustrates the cost of bananas in four different countries throughout a 10-year period starting from 1994.
Overall, it can be seen that the banana cost in all four countries underwent a wild fluctuation. In addition, Japan and the USA are two countries where bananas are the most and least expensive, respectively.
Regarding Japan, the cost of bananas per kilogram started at 1,7 dollars. This number grew rapidly and hit the highest point at 2,8 dollars in 1995. By 1997, the price of a kilogram of banana had dropped to under 2 dollars. The figure continued to fall drastically until 2001 when it hit the bottom after which a slight rise was seen in a short period of time. This was followed by a considerable increase which led to the cost of bananas per kilogram being recorded at approximately 2,5 dollars in the final year. On the other hand, the USA appeared to rank last throughout the given period, with the cost of bananas remaining relatively unchanged at over 1 dollar, except for the year of 1994 when banana was initially priced at around 0,7 dollars.
Turning to France, in the first 7 years, a plateau was witnessed in the figure for this country at roughly 1,7 dollars. Subsequently, the price fluctuated dramatically with the highest and lowest points being in 2001 and 2003, respectively. Meanwhile, Germany almost exactly mirrored the fluctuating trend in France, hovering at around 1,4 dollars from 1994 to 2000 and falling gradually to 1,2 dollars eventually.
