The line chart below illustrates the cost of purchasing banana in four different countries during a period of ten years starting from 1994 and ending up in 2004.
Overall, it is notable that the highest prices were in Jaban, while in the USA buying banana were the cheapest. The prices of one kilogram in France and Germany were in between the other two countries.
To begin with, in Jaban the prices of banana per kilogram were the most expensive, they were more than two dollar during all the period recorded, the highest cost was at approximately 2.90 dollar in 1995, and there was significant drop in the price to reach around 1.60 dollar. Whilst, in the USA the prices begin by approximately 0.70 dollar, and then minimally climbed to more than one dollar and they remained static until the end of the decade.
In France, which is the second country has higher prices, the prices were located between 1.50 and 2 dollar during 10 years except, in 2000 and 2003, the costs declined to beneath 1.50 and 1 dollar respectively. In contract, in Germany, the prices were between 1 and 1.5 dollar during the whole span.
