The line graph compares the amount of energy consumed from 6 different fuel sources in the USA from 1980 and projected till 2030.
Overall, It is clear that the amount of energy consumed from petrol and Oil, Coal and Natural Gas will increase dramatically in the years 1980 to 2030. By contrast, the amount of energy absorbed from Nuclear and Solar/wind will increase slightly, while Hydropower will remain stable throughout the same period.
Between 1980 and 2030, the amount of energy consumed from petrol and oil will increase from 35 quadrillion units to almost 50 quadrillion units, a rise by 15 quadrillion units in 50 years. In 1980, the figures for Natural Gas and Coal was 20 and 16 quadrillion units, respectively which are expected to rise to 25 and 30 quadrillion units in the next 50 years.
Throughout the same period, Nuclear and Solar/wind experienced a slight increase in energy consumption of just over 5 quadrillion units and around 5 quadrillion units, respectively, while Hydropower will remain the same after experiencing a brief period of fluctuation, at just below 5 quadrillion units.
