The given line graph depicts the data about the number of people travelled via railway in United Kingdom from 1950 to 2004/5.
Overall, it is evident that mostly British citizen preferred to travel by national network followed by London underground system, while least people travelled through light rail and metro systems.
Around 1000 million passenger took the service of national rail network in 1950 and increased slightly to around 1100 million people in 1960. Subsequently, it declined moderately to reached minimum point about 650 million. However, the number of traveller grew slowly to mark a value of approximately 750 million in 1990/91 and rose significantly to hit a peak above 1000 million passenger.
On the flip side, approximately 700 million people travelled through London underground rail network and decline slowly to a minimum point of about 500 million in 1980. But from end of 1980 the number of individuals inclined markedly to reached a highest point to around 950 million. In addition, there were no any passenger in 1950 and 1960, however around 20 million individuals travelled after the end of 1960 and trend decline to null in 1980. In contrast, the number of passenger rose significantly to a highest point around 200 million in 2004/5.
