The line graph below illustrates the cost of having a mobile subscription across four brands, namely Demo, Alpha, Silm, and ETX, in a particular country throughout a nine-month period in 2012.
Overall, all four companies experienced fluctuations in their pricing strategies. It is worth noticing that Demo and ETX remained consistent as the most and least expensive companies to offer monthly prices respectively. Furthermore, Alpha and Silm also underwent substantial changes over the timeframe.
During the first half of the year, Demo initially charged customers roughly €23.5 in December and then rose sharply to just under €25 in March. Contrastingly, ETX was the most affordable mobile company with charging only €10 a month in December, before gradually decreasing to approximately €7 in March. Furthermore, Alpha witnessed a €5 decline from €23 in December to a little over €15 by the end of January, before increasing significantly, making it almost comparable to Demo at €22 in March. Moreover, in the time frame between December and April, Silm remained somewhat stable with only a marginal fluctuation of an estimated €5.
However, in the second half of the year, ETX reported a slight increase and then plunged lower to €7 by the end of August. Similarly, Silm underwent a dramatic drop in June at above €10, before increasing again to €15 in August. In contrast, Demo did not experience any substantial increase during April to July, but it hit a high of €33 and then a sudden downfall took place July and August, making it slightly cheaper at €30.
