The bar chart provided illustrates the percentage of women left unemployed in multiple countries of the United Kingdom in the years 2013 and 2014.
Overall, most countries, namely England, Wales, and Northern Ireland experienced a decrease in their unemployment rates. Contrastly, Scotland was the only country to experience an increase in female unemployment.
The percentage of women unemployed in England was 6.8% in 2013, but in 2014, a slight decline occurred placing the rate at 6.5%, a 0.3% decrease. Wales, on the other hand, had experienced a greater decrease in their unemployment rate than England; in 2014, their percentage was 5%, 0.4% less than the data collected during 2013.
Another country, namely Northern Ireland, had experienced the greatest increase in women finding a workplace. In 2013, their unemployment rate was 5.6%, yet had decreased all the way to 4.6% (the lowest of all the percentages) in just a single year. Oppositely, Scotland was the only country to experience an increase in the female unemployment rate, going from 6.1% to 6.7 in 2013 an 2014 respectively, making it the country with the largest unemployment rate among women in the United Kingdom.
