Vegetables remains the top food favored by the Australia by consuming 140 kg per person in 1950 to 160 kg per person in year 2010; however there a significant decrease in consumption of vegetables in the year 1950 to 1970 and in 1990. Subsequently there is been a rise in number of people eaten fruits over the years and reaching its peak in 2010 with 140 kg per person.
Meat consumption has decreased over the year with peak being in 1990 in contrast to vegetable consumption during the same year. Bread and Seafood remains has the lowest food consumed by Australians staying stable with an average of 20 kg per person.
