Overall, 2010 had the highest recycling rates across all types of waste compared to the other two years, while 2000 saw the lowest recycling percentages. It can be seen that the recycling rate for all waste types increased over the period, opposed to cans which had a lower rate in 2005.
In terms of cans, it start at 10% in 2000. In the next five years, the percentage of recycled cans which slightly increased to about 12%, then it doubled with around 25% in 2010. In addition, paper and metal both show upward trend from 2000 to 2010. In 2000, paper and metal had the same percentage, with 12% in 2000. In 2005, the proportion of paper and metal recycled increased to just under 20% and almost 30%, respectively. At the end of the period, metal reach its peak at 40%, as well as paper recycling rates was approximately
29%.
According to the data, the cans of waste proportion start at 13%, and before dramatically increased to nearly 30% in 2010, it decreased 1% in 2005.
