The bar chart compares the proportion of four types of recycled waste – plastic, cans, paper, and metal in a town over a 10-year period from 2000 to 2010.
Overall, it is clear that recycling rates increased for all types of waste over the period. Metal was the most recycled type of waste by the end of the period. It was followed by paper and cans. However, plastic was the least recycled waste.
Focusing on the percentage of plastic, starting at 10% in 2000, the figure saw a rice to 25% in 2010. When it comes to the number of cans, which was at about 13% in the beginning of the period, the figure dropped modestly from 13% to 11% before increasing again to 35% by 2010.
Looking at the number of paper, beginning at approximately 11% in 2000. There was a dramatic rise from 11% to almost 30% (29%) between 2000 and 2010. Regarding to the percentage of metal, starting as similarly as paper. Metal experienced an dramatic increase from 11% to 40% over a 10-year period.
