The retirement ages for men in Australia and the United States fell in the middle range, at 64 years 1 month and 65 years 6 months.
A similar pattern was observed among women, though their retirement ages were consistently lower. Korean and Japanese women also retired the latest, at 67 years 2 months and 66 years 9 months. By contrast, women in France and Italy retired the earliest, at 56 years 9 months and 57 years 3 months. Women in Australia and the United States again occupied a mid-range position, with average retirement ages of 63 years 5 months and 64 years 2 months.
