The line graph depicts the adjustment of four sorts of ways – post, telephone, mobile phone, internet among various age groups in the UK in the year of 2011. Overall, it is apparent that older age groups tended to use traditional methods like telephone and post. Conversely, younger generations showed a strong inclination towards mobile phone and the internet.
As we can clearly see that the percentage of younger generations under 18 used post and telephone just accounted for approximately five percent and fifteen percent. However, nearly fifty percent of under-18s utilized the internet, and it was the dominant category compared to other communications. Whereas, people between the ages of ( 36 – 40 ) and over sixty ages preferred using post and mobile phone to the internet.
Besides, mobile phone in all three age groups except over sixty years old where it remained the same, but it plunged dramatically from thirty percent to fifteen percent. That means elderly used mobile phone reduced by half.
