The bar chart depicts the proportion of various vehicles used in traveling and working in one European city in 1960, 1980 and 2000.
Generally, there are four major transports which were used in these years. While the ratio of cars saw an increase and the percentage of buses decreased constantly, the figure for trains and tubes saw a small fluctuation.
On the one hand, in 1960, the proportion of cars comprised about 7 percent while the figure for buses accounted for nearly 40 percent. However, until 1980, the figure for cars witnessed an enormous rise to nearly 25 percent meanwhile the figure for buses experienced a decline to around 26 percent. Finally, in 2000, the ratio of cars reached a peak at more than 35 percent while the figure for buses went down to 15 percent precisely.
On the other hand, in 1960, the proportion of trains and tubes accounted for approximately 20 percent and 27 percent. Nevertheless, until 1980, the figure for trains witnessed a large increase to around 27 percent before going down to nearly 20 percent in 2000. In contrast, the ratio of tubes saw a decrease to about 23 percent in 1980 before experiencing a climb to 25 percent sharply in 2000.
