The bar chart compares the percentage of four forms of vehicles which were used to travel to and from work in one European city in 1960, 1980 and 2000.
It is clear that while the percentage of travelers by car experienced a dramatical increase during this period. On the other hand, the proportion of individuals who used bus and saw a negative trend. The figures for traveling by train and tube fluctuated over the four decades.
As can be seen from the chart, in 1960 the data of travelling by train stood at 17%, which was 10% higher than that of car. The figure for train then saw a doubling from 17 to 27%, before falling slightly to 22% in 2000. Similarly, the percentage of people who chose to use car in 2000 was over 35%, which was significantly higher than the figures for the year 1960 and 1980, only 7% and 23% respectively.
On the other hand, standing at nearly 40%, the proportion of travelling by bus was higher than that of tube at 17% in 1960.
