In 1980, the mostly used vehicle type was subway with 2.5 millions travellers per month and it remained the top choice among years and expected to rise to 4.5 million users in 2030. Similarly, trams also increased its usage from around 500 thousands to 2 millions of travellers.
On the other hand, it is visible that commuting by bus became less preferred and dropped to its lowest level in 2030 with around 1 million passenger. Besides, bike sharing emerged as an alternative vehicle type and according to the predictions it might rise to 0.5 million commuters per month on average.
