The line graph shows the number of enquiries a University Admissions Office received from January to June in 2021. Overall, all of the methods, except ‘letter/email’, increased overall over the whole period of time. In the end ‘in person’ became the most popular one. However, letters and emails lost their popularity, as they decreased steadily over a six-month period.
In January, “by telephone” method was twice as popular as the “in person” method. Over the next two months, “by telephone” slightly decreased and recovered right after it, but ‘in person’ increased steadily and was only 1.25 times less popular. Then, in April, ‘in person’ rocketed and overtook “by telephone” and became the most popular method. Over the next two months, both methods increased significantly and reached their high. ‘In person’ rose almost fivefold, reaching 1900, while ‘by telephone’ approximately doubled its mark from 900 to 1600.
In the beginning, “in person” method was the most unpopular one, while “by letter/email” was second. However, over the next two months they became quite equal, with the difference only 100 points. From March to May, the situation completely changed, as ‘in person’ almost doubled its numbers from 800 to 1600, while ‘by letter/email’ approximately halved them from 700 to 350. “By telephone” also increased dramatically in May and reached 1400. By June, “by letter/email” method became the least frequently used, as they were around 4 times less popular than the second one and around 5 times less popular than the most common one.
